Terminal & subshells

Rescriptum includes a full interactive terminal backed by a real native PTY (Windows ConPTY / Unix PTY).

Interactive Shell

Run development servers, interactive debuggers, and build tools directly inside the IDE. Supports ANSI color rendering, shell history, and multi-tab sessions.

Agent Command Isolation

When the agent executes shell commands via run_command, commands run in dedicated subshells. Session working directories are strictly reset on every invocation to prevent directory drift bugs.

Command Policy Enforcement

Automated commands are vetted against a multi-tier security policy that categorizes operations as Safe, Moderate, or Dangerous, blocking hazardous shell patterns automatically.
